JabiruUSA was having difficulty getting my engine put back together after six months of effort. We finally agreed upon a solution which consisted of exchanging my old engine for a almost new engine with only 5 hours on it. Even though it has been a very long and trying process, I'm appreciative of Jabiru's solution. I would have liked to have had the plane ready for the open hanger day, but just did not have enough time.

Phill, It's a long story.  Most of the hold up was me wanting to get all the new SB parts on before reasembly.  The timing of the situation was right in the middle of Jabiru Aus figuring our what to do.  Then we had to wait for them to make the parts.  We also had a problem getting the case line-bored.  We ended up sending it to JabiruPacific, but we had to wait for him to get his tooling in place.  This was after sending it to Tulsa, in which they sent it back saying they could not do the line-bore.  Then it went to Arizona for assembly.  The guy in Arizona got snowed under and the engine sat for the longest time.  Finally, out of frustration from both myself and JabiruUSA, we decided on exchanging the engine.  I am working on getting an A/P on my field up to speed to become a Jabiru service center.  He will be flying up with me tomorrow to the open Hanger day at Mexico. Both Jabiru distributors have agreed to support a service center in the Midwest.  This would give the Jabiru guys three (east, central and west coast) locations to send their engines for work.

Wow Mike, 6 months to reassemble an engine? What were they doing or saying that could justify that?
