Rudder cables & steering rod bushings
If you zoom in you can see a snap bushing I used at the steering rod slide hole. Beats metal on metal, and easy to do. Got them @ ASC- www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/hapages/snapbushing1.php

Hi Jimmy,
I bought the bushings also... like your suggestion. Did you use one one each of the sliding panel and did you use any adhesive to keep them in place? I'm thinking that friction from the push rods might loosen them after a while.
