Another mod...got idea from Jim Dereckson. Bought a 701 "gascolator" from Zenith to use as a sump drain. Installed behind seat under baggage floor. Eliminates gascolator hanging out exposed under the plane. I also have a "regular" gascolator on the firewall.

Bob,
You are correct, but it is what Zenith refers to as their "701 gascolator". It's just a sump drain in my application, and I do have the other kit supplied gascolator installed on the firewall.
This is not a gascolator...at least the model supplied from Zenith. It is a square tube that functions as a low point in the fuel system to hopefully collect dirt and water. Not legal for use as a "gascolator" in Canada. Gascolators have a fine mesh screen that will not allow water / dirt to pass through. Canada also requires min. 3/8" dia. fuel line to the gascolator as this 3/8" dia. will pass any ice crystals formed, and requires a significant chunk of dirt to plug. I assume your "regular gascolator" on the firewall has a fine mesh screen.
