On the way to the fly-in event just 10min after take off. The temperature was
-27C at our airfield. In the afternoon 300km south it was only -10C. Back at the home field in the evening it was -22C. It's nice gas won't freeze - beer and booze will(except Russian Vodka), just for reference ;)

A block heater, that's a good one :) I bought this hat for ice fishing but it works well in the cockpit too with the beanie mod.
Now I know why you did "The Beanie Mod." It was so you could wear that hat while flying ;>) Here is Canada a hat like that is affectionately called a "Block Heater". I usually wear a hat with a brim so I can see the D180 in bright sunlight. In the cold I prefer a Toque or Block Heater.
