Elevator balance spring installed 601 XL B

Hi Ian,
I have not flown the airplane yet so I can't comment on the flying characteristics. My expectation is that it will add some mechanical "up" trim to balance out the down trim (gravity) bias of the non-balanced elevator. I have read first flight reports that the 601XL often runs out of "up" trim even with the longer trim tab and this may help. Other airplanes use springs as the only trim agent so I don't think this is too far out of the box for a change. It is easy to disconnect if some undesirable characteristic happens. I was also thinking of adding some form of elevator control dampening to reduce the reported sensitivity.
Hi Louis. Just noticed your elevator spring. Could you comment on the effect this has on the elevator control and the flying characteristics?
