Hi Randy,
The airspeed , alt, T&B and compass card are backups for elec failure. Everything I need is in the MGL mini extreme plus engine inst. The 796 has weather and traffic plus GPS airspeed and GPS alt for backup as well and runs for a long time on batteries. It is all overkill for those long boring flights to give me something to play with and it looks kinda cool as well.

That is an interesting layout. The only thing that would concern me is a good instrument scan with the Altimeter so far to the right and the HSI high in the center. But, I guess it's all in what you get used to. I love the symmetry of the layout. Good job.
