Did you get a chance to get any pics of your exhaust ??
thank you Jack
I have a 701 with a 582 and am going to put a 670 in it do I need a 618 dual plug head and what exhast for inverted engine?
thank you
Daniel, I finally found some pics of the suspension.............I can take more if you want to see anything specific.
Yes I use the RAVE valves.......I did the work myself...........biggest mods were the snout of the crank and many trials to get the pipe working in the right RPM range............I ended up using a pipe from a Polaris 900 snowmobile and added 5" of length to the center of the expansion chamber to get the engine working happy at 6500 rpm........the engines come "piped" for peak power at 7800 rpm from the factory and they are very peaky and hard to modulate at 6500 with the stock pipe. I tried to use a twin plug cylinder head from a 582 but it is too weak to seal the combustion pressure on the 670(the 582 casting is built much lighter and uses smaller studs to anchor......also has a smaller combustion chamber so I had to open it up to match the 670)
send me your email and I will send pics of the suspension.
Did you build the 670 with RAV valves? Rotax Rick? I'll be putting the fuselage together in the next few months. The rear fuse is ready now along with most of the wing work and empennage. I'm really interested in your suspension as mine will be for off airport much of the time. Did you draw anything up or just hold your thumb out when putting it together? The reason I ask is I would like to see what you did. Maybe I need to fly into Edmonton and rent a car eh? I imagine you have some extra beef under the floor to handle the center loads. Anyway, that's an outstanding job! Thanks for the inspiration.
The yellow is Endura "super gold pearl" (Suzuki car color).......the rest is vinyl............
The tires(size) are from an old Honda atv trike........mounted on a lightweight set of aluminum racing rims that I narrowed 3 inches.......this makes the tire tall and skinny................The brakes and spindles are from a Polaris Predator Quad............the control arms we made here at the shop from 4130.........suspension is much like you would find on a dirt bike with gas shocks........very nice ride on rough terrain and steep landings.....
Engine is a Rotax 670 swinging a full length Ivo Medium prop.
That is just so pretty it takes a guy's breath away. What size tires? Is it all paint or do you have vinyl on there? Is there a post someplace that has all the details? I hope mine turns out that well.
