The front ski is a simple fixed "wheel penetration" ski. The tire is always 1 1/2 inches below the UHMW plastic ski bottom. The main skis use a electric hydraulic pump to extend the sliding plate under the wheel or retract to allow the main tire to contact pavement. Electric hydraulic pump / tank is the same used by Zenair for the amphibian floats. Weight is 5 lbs. for the pump.
