Making New Central Floor Stiffener
Excess extrusion from new wing spar caps helps make the new central floor stiffener. The old one on my 701 is shorter. Shown in the picture is my second attempt, for practice sake. The first, not as nice, is already installed in place.

I made the new central floor stiffener first, installed it, and then cut up the previous one that formed up all by hand-bending alone (not very nice looking) in halves. Then, I trimmed up a half nicely, and used it on my new firewall. The other half can be cut up in two pieces as replacements for cockpit floor stiffeners. But, I have not check whether they need to be replaced or not. The floor paint has to come off before visual inspection for aluminum pieces and rivets integrity.
There is a long list of work for updating my oldie to CH 701 SP standard. To keep blood pressure and pulse in the low, I work the easier ones first, and leisurely.

After bending it into a U, I had no idea how to proceed until one day the aluminum extrusion fell off the shelf on to my toes.
