The sad part is that I did it to both pedals...despite being aware of what caused the issue. Relatively cheap $$ error - but very annoying overall!

The mistake I made on my CH750 build was not paying attention to the plans.... using A5 rivets instead of A5 SS.
Standing on the brakes during a full power run up and both brake pedals broke off the hinges. "CRAP"
An easy fix but it was caused by not paying attention to detail.

Larry, thanks for the encouragement, but you're still way ahead of me based on the simple fact you've decided to go plans built versus kit. Just gotta keep at it - eventually we'll both get them flying.
I'm even thinking that there is Onex project in the not too distant future for me!! So, the overall experience so far hasn't had a negative affect!!

Bryan - I incorrectly transferred the pilot hole markings from the S/S hinges onto aluminum pedal. These were for the right side dual brake install. Had no issues with the first set of pedals on the pilot side. I had been up all night the previous evening working and was well into the following afternoon with no sleep, I rationalized that I had already done this - "no sweat" - I was wrong. Tried to save the piece by enlarging, but no such luck! Put everything away and called it a day. Next time I will just use the pilot holes in the S/S hinge as a guide. A bit more tedious to clamp and set up, but the results will certainly be correct assuming I orientate items correctly!
