Thank you Bob, I will look for the skid. In the meanwhile, I think I will cut off a piece of the tail! That part it seems to have no structural meaning. Thx
Don't you just hate asphalt runways? I discovered the same ...but it was grass stains & dirt. Aircraft Spruce sells a tail skid for $18. or you can make a "wheelie wheel" with a skate board tire (see my Can-Zac Spycam album).

Yea, I am planning something similar....but I never thougth to hit the back of the tail in a takeoff!
Yes indeed? Maybe a piece of metal strap (1.75" wide x 8" long) , U shaped pointing towards the back that could take the hit with damaging the rudder. I've seen it on many planes. I'll try to get a picture for you if you don't see what I mean. -:)
But...nothing you can't fix with a homebuilt.
