I tried the abrasive cutoff with air grinder - hard to hold low speed and too much friction. Also tried the diamond cutoff wheel on a Dremel tool - not enough torque to maintain low speed and small wheel diameter.
I had a 3.5"diamond cutoff wheel from a Roto-zip tool. With wheel mounted on an arbor, the Milwaukee compact angle drill was the perfect driver. Great two hand hold. Max. speed is 800 rpm - perfect for canopy trim and just pull the trigger all the way in. With this tool, canopy trimming is easy and safe.
