Hi Andre

My plane does not have the header tank. It has two fuel tanks, one in each wing. The function of side slip tank is similar to the header tank - ensure a continuous flow of fuel to the engine. The main difference from side slip tank for the header tank is that the first keeps full even when one of the tanks can no longer feed him because of an uncoordinated flight. The side slip tank also minimizes fuel failures that occur when the wing tanks became empties. This is the reason of using side slip tanks with great capacity. My tank has 3.5 liters (about 1 gallon). This ensures a constant flow for more than ten minutes at full power, and more than that in other power settings.

Regards,

Paulo Anders

Nice!!   How is that different from a header tank?
