Fiberglass windshield mod
We felt like this was a worth while mod. And no... the rivets do not go through the windshield.

We put lots of layers of tape down over the windshield to protect the glass during the fiberglass, then sanded part and then attached it to plane with silicone and rivets, then painted with the rest of the plane. I'd love to come to Ghana someday. We'll let ya know if we ever make it down there! Good luck!!

OK, let me get this straight - you built the plane, painted it and then put fibreglass lay up on it? Sounds cool - but tell me, how did you protect the windshield and paint during the lay up? How about y'all coming out to Ghana, doing some flying and showing us!

We laid fiberglass right on the windshield, shaped, sanded and painted it. We used silicone to ensure that no leaking would occur. So far so good. It's been nearly 4 years since done and we haven't had any leaks!

Hi, we briefly met your husband at EAA this year, he said that your 801 did not leak. Would be posible to get some more pics of these mods and the top of your windshield?
