Hi Ken - Did you Home made steering rods perform as expected ? If yes, Can you share few more details on how they were made please ? I know its been few years ago but am curious to learn ..

The steering rods are home made. My first Zenair the CH 250 uses them . They are quite simple, just a rod threaded at both ends, a 7/8 tube x 035 wall and a compression spring and rod end bearing.  The rods are under tension when installed. I had to play around with the spring weight as I got wheel shimmy on landing, other wise they work very  well.

Ken, I wonder if you have part number information for the steering rods. Are you happy with how they work? I am thinking about some kind of solution to the rudder stiffness.
