Moments before 1st flight 29Aug 09. Flight lasted 10 mins due to high temps and low oil pressure. 2nd flight today , pressures OK but cylinder temps still high. The engine is still tight and temps should drop as breakin progress's. First flights are being done without slats; when perfomance data has been collected I plan on repeating the data collection with the slats installed. Then the slats will be removed and vortex generators are to be installed on the wing and horezontal stab.
After comparing data I will decide the final configuration. By that time I should hav the engine broken in.
Check the Cessna nose gear fork- No the leg is not bent , I made it that way so that the axel is trailing, it has no shimmy on the several landings done so far. Another change i have made is the curve along the top of the windshield , this was done to enhance the plexiglass windshield. The fusealage has extra stringers to reduce the oil canning. A/C weighs in at 570lbs.
