STOL CH 801
Joe Salomone's STOL CH 801:
"Flies great with a bit over 50 hours on it, so it is out of Phase 1 flight testing. Airplane has dual Dynon SkyViews, with transponder, Traffic and Auto-Pilot all included inside the unit. Garmin 396 GPS with weather etc. Installed is a Catto prop made especially for this engine combination for STOL performance. We custom built a Cargo pod which is quickly removable when not needed. I have a lot of flight time in STOL airplanes, especially the Helio Couriers flying them in the Alaskan and Canadian bush besides owning 2 Helios myself. The CH-801 is impressive in STOL operations for the average pilot. With technique, it can do more than expected. My compliments."
