You can see that the lower skin is short of the upper skin edge by the 20mm of the trailing edge lip.
Unfortunately, I aligned the center of the skin 10mm above the correct centerline of the tip-rib (therefore, top skin 10mm long and bottom skin 10mm short = 20mm.)

my father and i recently started building a 701. we encountered the exact same problem you did while skinning the elevator. i was wondering if you ever found out why you had the problem? and also if the 40mm strip you used to fix the error, worked well? thanks for your time!
