Since I don't have the landing gear kit yet, I have to settle for some "shop gear" - works very well for moving the fuselage around easily.

I used inflatable hand-truck wheels from Lowes ($18 for the pair). The axle is a 1/2" threaded rod running all the way from side to side, and is back-bolted on each side of the 2x8 legs, with 1/2" copper water pipe for wheel hub bushings. It is VERY solid. I set it pretty low - so I can still creep underneath, but working inside is easy. It does have that "flight of the pheonix" look, doesn't it!
I can only imagine some of the comments you'll get.. Um, err, nice gear! Home made?
