Trevor Leslie is trying to choose between an RV and a CH750. Two different missions and flight envelopes. I showed him the low & slow (relative to an RV) flight of the CH750. He had a hard time accepting that the CH750 he was flying was built by a first time builder...and the also the floats.... the wheel skis. Who is a rivet addict?

Brian I flew a Challenger 400 hrs on wheels, skis, and amphib. Puddle Jumper floats. Ray Nash another Challenger owner and I bought the CH601HD for something "faster" to fly. It also started my relationship with Zenith and Mark Townsend of Can-Zac.

I have many RV friends at the airfield and they all love my 701 for all the low and slow beach flying and access to all the grass strips on Long Island, especially many farmers who are friendly to aviation. I love their RVs for the speed and versatility. I have a friend who built a challenger and we are going to find an unfinished RV4 or RV8 and finish it together. This way we have the best of both worlds. Might be a good plan for Trevor.

Camera makes even me look good ! It is a Panasonic DMC-TZ1. It is compact with 12X zoom and "air photo mode".

We spent the afternoon flying 1000 ft AGL along the rivers and lakes. Trevor had flown the area before.. but just not that low & slow (90-95 mph). Chopping the power and landing in the farm field to visit a friend just never occured to him as something you routinely do when "out flying". The RV guy never gets it... its the time spent flying vs how quickly you can get back on the ground.

Bob, I've read many of your post, you are on top of things. I'm sure your plane looks like it was built by a professional.

Andre, the 750 is slow but nobody wants to go that slow.

Maybe Trevor didn't tell you the RV he's talking about is not a PLANE  !!!  -:)

Maybe he's thinking of trailering his new 750 with an RV ??

So much fun -:)
