Bob, 

We're currently  installing amphibian floats under our club's Ikarus C42.  We ordered and paid the floats about 3 years ago from a Czech "manufacturer" Josef F so its a long project.... longer than yours I bet ;)

This spring enough was enough and we just asked him to send the floats as they are. Floats seem quite ok but the rig is just a pile of aluminum tubing and missing parts (that mysteriously disappeared from a sealed box on the way to Finland). The nose strut / steering system does not even fit in its place and has to be rebuild.

I have been building the parts and hopefully in 2 weeks we have the plane ready for test flights. 

We still have about 1 month of good flying, then 1 month of possible flying season left but that is it - more or less...

I should have built straight floats.... summer is almost gone :>(
