Hi Ben;

I've been reading about all your issues on the Yahoo group.  I was going to order one, even had all the form filled out but just couldn't pull the trigger based on on all the problems people have been reporting...not with the engine itself but with dealing with the company both now and the trouble people had with the old Subaru mods.

I honestly believe this could be a GREAT engine, but if your wait times are an indication of customer service, then that's a crying shame.  It's too bad, you can have the best engine in the world but if you can't get parts for it, then it's not worth much.  I see Jan is starting to put up an install manual on his site, I'm glad he's finally getting around to it, but that should have been up much sooner than this. 

I lucked out and got a low time 0-235, so that solved my Viking dilemma, but was still thinking about a Viking in the future if I ever had major expenses come up with my Lycosaur. You seem to have much more patience than I would if I was stuck waiting as long as you have.

Have you even gotten your engine started yet?  If not, how will the warranty work out for you if it's been sitting that long? Does Viking warranty the engine from the purchase date or first start up?  I hope it works out for you.

I ordered mine in may with a scheduled September delivery.  I personally heard nothing from the company and the engine was finally delivered in December.  Since then sporadic backordered parts have been arriving in the mail.  I have yet to receive the ECU for the engine...almost 2 more months and it will be 1 year since I ordered.   Viking does not offer an installation manual.....you think they would have this in place prior to delivering any engines.   there are builder resources such as his website which contain multiple videos and DVD's through Homebuilt help.  I am happy with the engine and sorely disappointed with the timeliness of delivery and passive builder support.

I've had mine on order since August. For me it was not even a decision as for engine. 1/2 price of any decent engine.  Honda based, millions of dollars has gone into the design of this engine on the marine and auto side. Water cooled. I may not get mine till april or may. I knew before I ordered that I could expect the wait to be longer than told.
