Thanks! I had wanted to streamline the front gear leg and I also plan to fly both with and without slats so that was out. The cowling looked so pretty I could not bring myself to cut it up either. I have the landing light on a switch so it can either be solid on for night flight or flashing with the strobes (got to love LEDs!). I designed it such that I have some flexibility in aiming too. There is a curved section of lexan on the front that maintains the shape. I just heated it with a blowtorch and bent it to where I wanted it.
I love your landing light, great spot and aerodynamic too!
