Zenair Firewall Float Bracket "Not Even Close"
This is the Zenair, Midland supplied CH750 firewall float attach bracket. Its not even close to correctly made. I included some measurements so they can adjust the welding fixture to properly fit the CH750. The CH601XL, CH650, and CH750 share a common firewall. I suspect Zenair is using and motor mount jig for the CH650 to make the CH750 firewall float bracket. This is the left (co-pilot side) with motor mount on top of Zenair supplied firewall float bracket.

Sent my measurements in today...I added about 1 mm just to be safe but if it's that exact mine might be a little tight too! :( They are also making my mount for my engine..now that is something I really don't want to have to mess with and am praying they get it right!

Hi Bob, I had a lot of problems too. Zenith asked for the measurement outside to outside on longerons. I gave it to them as close as I could. Foolishly I thought they would add a millimeter or two. When I got it it was too narrow but I somehow managed to get it to fit. The angle with the firewall is off, but only slightly and I think I can fix that. I should have acceptable edge distance on the engine mount holes. So I guess mine was better, but still a pain. They need to do better.

I will post pictures of the repaired bracket (Bob's buddy "The Welder"). The point is there is no legitimate reason for Zenair, Midland not to get the product correct on a CNC match drilled kit. I can assure you I won't be the only builder with this issue, and only by sharing information can changes be made at the factory. There was issues with my motor mount in the Zenith supplied FWF kit also..I guess I am tired of being told its the builders problem on a CNC match drilled factory kit.

You're scaring me Bob! I just ordered my engine mount AND float bracket on Friday....praying mine isn't messed up...
