Nose gear all plumbed hydraulically. The "hammer" just helps hold the gear out of the way while I install the float nose cap. (In case someone thinks I "lost it" during the float build) :>)

Actually my hangar rafters are 10 ft presently... the part that pisses me off is I cut 2 ft off the 6"X6"X16ft pressure treated posts 12 yrs agao when I built the hangar. I owned a Quad City Challenger on ampgib. Puddle Jumper floats then... the CH750 is bigger.
11 feet!!! Egads...my garage doors are only 10 (I intend to park it there in winter) feet! I guess I can tip it down to get it in... My small local airport has a river next to it for seaplanes but has limited spots to park so guys have to pull their planes out of the water when they are done. Bit of a pain...but still a nice option to have! Our grass strip is not super smooth either, but not too bad. They try to keep it well maintained.

We shall see how "sturdy" they are on grass runways, Cobden CPF4 where I am based is a grass strip and not a real golf course smooth one either. That wrap on the gear leg with .060 6061T6 skin is an addition to the structure last year. I have two buddies with the old style flat gear CH701 and the 3-wheel (steerable nose gear) floats. Larger tires on the nose gera probably works better on the grass. The tail of the CH750 on amphib floats is 11 ft in hieght, I have to raise my whole hangar 3 ft next.... then install the floats.
Bob, that looks GREAT. Do you think the gear is pretty sturdy? I'm wondering about the grass runway at our nearby strip and if they will do well on it? You think you'll have them on your plane this season?
Very Cool! Wondering if I can do that on my XL, retractable nosegear, hmm. It is an Experimental :-)
