My thread asking the same question.
I ended up getting a new rod, and the trimming as necessary to get as close to the travel as I could. try screwing in the rod ends a little at a time to see if it gets closer. Its been 2 years so I am trying to remember. If I remember there are several posts about the same complaint.
I am not flying yet still building fuselage, But I can see if I can answer.
