Thanks for that long duration experiment with the bungees! Sounds like even a single bungee worked OK, even though it would be pulling only on one side of the gear leg. I don't think I'll go that far but might consider 2 regular 1080s per main gear leg. Once you do the next replacement, you could even get a new forum post out of your experience. My dad and I will be replacing the main gear bungees for the first time, at maybe 550 hours. Did the nose a couple years back. The main bungees haven't stretched out; instead I think they have stiffened up with age, losing their flexibility.

Hey Jim, about a decade back on the old Matronics list, you tried putting 1080 bungees on your main gear instead of the stiffer 1080HD ones.
How did that work out in the long run?
Many have wondered about that over the years but I hadn't noticed anyone who actually took the leap and installed them.
