Larry, I'm from the far western end of Ontario (as in the real western end). I live adjacent to Northern Minnesota, right on the border.
Larry, to answer your question about corrosion protection, it kind of depends where you live. In coastal areas it is best to prime all interior surfaces. Here in Canada interior corrosion protection is mandatory no matter what part of the country you live in so we prime the inside of all surfaces. I suppose the reason for mandatory priming is that just because you live in a dry region now does not mean the plane won't eventually move to a wetter location in the future.
The STOL 750 we just finished was primed inside of everything and it came out within one pound of Zenith's brochure weight for the STOL 750 so weight is no reason to not prime. Priming is a bunch of extra work but for me priming is about workmanship and peace of mind as much as protection.
Hi Larry, welcome to the wonderful world of Zenith. To answer your question, no I don't live near Zenair in Midland. I'm at the other end of Ontario which means, as funny as it sounds, I'm actually closer to Zenith in Mexico, MO than Zenair in my home province.
