CH601XL - Positioning of flap control plate

I attached the wings to the fuselage today and fitted the flaps. Obviously the current position of the flap control plate doesn‘t match. In fully up flap motor position, the flaps are still extended by like 5 degrees (distance between top of wing skins trailing edge and flap leading edge = 15 mm / 0.7 inch). The flap control plae (6-W-1CZ-3CZ) is installed according to the plans, 6-W-1CZ (see pictures attached). How did you adjust the flap control plate to match the correct position for the…See More

Pneumatic rivet squeezer for wing spar modification CH601XL-B

Posted on April 26, 2014 at 4:24pm 1 Comment

I am currently searching for a good yoke (for a 6000lbs pneumatic rivet squeezer) that allows me to squeeze the wing spar rivets for the CH601XL-B modification.

What yoke gap and reach are necessary? Does anybody know where I can buy such a yoke? Averytools only has smaller size yokes that won't fit/reach over the L-spar-angle.

Hi Martin, I am sure you would have loved to fly along with Doug and I to Copperstate. We did hours of low altitude flying in NV & UT.

I did a google search on my N number a few weeks ago and got a hit on your vacation blog from about 10 years ago, which was still up on the internet.

Take care, Steve & Doug

Hi Martin! Yes we have Alex's top gun 601XL and what a great job he did with it! Alex is a wonderful person and a great friend!
Our airport is located at the foothills of the small dolomite mountains. I can estimate a few hours from Lugano.
We would love to have you for the Fly -In on 27 Sept, if not stay in touch for when you move here.
Cheers!

Roy

Hey Mark, SnF2009, unfortunately not... We plan to be in FL in summer again only. Although - if I tell Pascale and the kids about the Strawberries, they might change their mind :-)))).

Hello Martin,

Thanks for the kind comment on my 601. I sure enjoy flying it. I recall your visit back in summer of 2007. My plane was very new then. I found your website one day many months ago because you have a picture of my plane with the N number. Nice vacation pictures you have posted there!

Get that plane in the Air!

Take care, Steve
