WTB 0-235 engine mount

Just checking to see if anyone has a conical mount for an O-235 they are interested in selling. This is for a Cruzer so the I believe the CH750 STOL or CH650 mounts would work. Thanks!MikeContinue

When fabricating cut out blocks and forming blocks do you factor in the radius to the measurements? For example, if I was making a 12 inch square form with a 1 inch flange would my cut out form be 13…Continue

Wiring runs

Posted on September 23, 2016 at 9:35am 0 Comments

Was a little worried about running all my wiring through the center console, along with the fuel lines, and having the dual controls. Fabricated and a rack and, with a bunch of adel clamps, it looks to be doable.…

Update

Posted on December 15, 2015 at 2:00pm 2 Comments

Seems slow around here so here's some pics and an update. Decided not to run my lines in center channel. They'll go up to center console and fuel valve from where they exit from front seat support.  Took an idea from John Austin about shaping a washer to fit in the corner of upright support and longeron, then sandwiched with a full size washer. ..sturdy. I have some adel clamps ordered but I'm impressed with the zip tie holders...They stick!! Package claims 40lbs of holding force!  Used…

Ugghhhh...Cutting my spar

Posted on January 31, 2015 at 8:34pm 3 Comments

I attempted to cut one of my wing spars with the olfa knife and may have messed it up. On my initial pass, the angle aluminum I was using as a guide moved about 1mm. I ended up having two areas where it goes from 209mm to 208. From the way I read the construction standards this is past tolerance. Is it worth a call to Caleb to see if this still usable? I Had a bad feeling about attempting this with the scoring knife when I started...should a listened to my gut!

More Parts!

Posted on January 18, 2015 at 12:39pm 1 Comment

Don't have a shop with a bunch of equipment to make it easier but still plugging away. Everything so far with a ruler, jigsaw and a file. My local EAA has a big metal brake so I'll bend the pieces needing bends on Tuesday hopefully. Its kinda fun fabricating you own parts. I just hope they fit/work when assembly time comes.

Hi Mike,

The strut hole discussion on the forum caused me to look at your page to see how you're progressing. I remembered your interest last year in my mod on the strut attachment parts, and it looks like you haven't done your wings yet, so thought I would share how my strut attachment parts came together. They fit perfectly. Notice on the photo that the rivet so thoroughly cussed and discussed clears everything as it should ... sometimes things work out.

Your fuselage looks really nice. I've just started mine after doing the wings. Maybe you can help me with the console when the time comes. Yours looks great.

The finishing kit is on the way, expect it to arrive on Monday.  Cold WX will slow up construction next week.
