Hello Phillip,
Your right about the Owens valley being close by and more or less straight down from where I was. If fact you can see the valley floor in many of the pictures. At times I could have glided down there if the plane developed an issue. That is cool that you have spent time in the Owens valley. I like flying in it. I also like the next two valleys to the east, Saline Valley and Death Valley.
The pictures in the video were taken on my way down to Redlands where your airplane now lives. I spent a week with Bracken, working on your airplane and training Bracken to fly it. He now has about 5 hours in it and is generally able to land it without assistance now. He has soloed but has yet to get his Light-Sport Pilot's license. As soon as he gets his license we plan to take the plane on a big loop around the west to improve his skills and get some hours in his log book.
Take care
Steve
