Hi Philippe,

I'll be happy to help in any way I can. Have you decided which engine you will use? That is if it will be fuel injected, you will have to have a return line to the tank. I had a carburetted Corvair and I'm now changing to fuel injected Corvair. I ran only one return line to the left tank. The return line doesn't change with the supply valve from either thank. It is always on the left. I will have to use left tank fuel first, then switch to right tank which will empty quite quickly because the return line will fill the left tank. To me, that was preferable to needing two return lines, more complex fuel valve, more lines, more fittings, more weight, more chance for some failure. I have other comments too, but will wait to find out what information you need.

Hi Philippe,

I checked out your great company web site - very interesting. I work as a chief technologist / inventor / electro mechanical engineer in Indiana. I have designed and built several automated manufacturing cells over the years. Here are some useful automation component companies in the Midwest (Indiana and Ohio) USA that may be helpful to your future projects:

 - Clippard Instrument lab - miniature cylinders, valves and air logic- www.clippard.com

 - PHD Corp. - robotic grippers, clamps and actuators - www.phd.com

 - 80/20 Corp. - broad line of aluminum extrusions for structural and guarding uses - very affordable, called the engineer's erector set - www.8020.com

Hi Phillipe,

I am glad to meet you. I have considered the UL Power and Viking Honda engines. Getting the advantage of fuel injection economy and no carb ice sounds really good.

I contacted the UL Power engineers in Belgium regarding the supply and return line sizes. They require a 12 mm supply hose ID and a 9 mm return hose ID because they use a very high flow fuel pump.

I finally decided on the features and lower initial and spare parts cost of the Viking Honda engine. The Viking requires a 3/8" ID supply hose ID and a 1/4" ID return hose ID, due to a more moderate fuel pump output (still 2X the fuel needed for full throttle). I was able to fit the 1/4" ID hose between the Zodiac 650B wing tanks in the leading edge and the nose skin. Since I am building the baggage locker option, this really helped simplify the hose installation. Pictures of this installation are on my zenith.aero page.

Welcome and best regards,  Larry Zepp

Hi Philippe, on this link you will find everything you ever need to know about the UL engines:

Check out the page of Philippe Verdier, also in La Roche sur Yon. He has a 701 with a BMW 1100 engine
