Picked up the Tailkit,

My son and I rented a truck, and picked up the tail kit at the truck terminal - his first time seeing one of those. We used a couple of furniture dollies to move the crate. Then, while we had the truck, we picked up an air compressor and some wood for the workbench. Next is to build the work bench.

Ordered the tail kit.

All right, finally sent the check and ordered the tail kit. Will be getting air compressor, wood for the work table, and generally setting up a workspace. Since winter is in full gear here still, it looks like the tail is getting built in the dining room. Drop cloth on the floor, tunes on the radio, sweet sound of the compressor, and little aluminum bits all over the place. I getting excited already.

Rudder Workshop and Demo Flight

After the January workshop I am now the proud parent of a bouncing baby rudder! It may not be cosmetically perfect, but I would be willing to fly with it. I learned a lot at the workshop, and had a chance to fix some mistakes w/o it being a disaster. The basic skills were easy to pickup, and it was helpful to have the Zenith folks nearby for questions. and having your kids involved in your project is great to see. It's the best way to combine quality family time and building time.....in perfect harmony. I have a 30' x 30' workshop and I can just imagine the challenge you are faced with in building an aircraft in your dinning room -:)
