Hi Rob! I'm still in the assembly stage, not ready to paint the exterior yet. It is my hope to polish the floats and add some black vinyl "checkerboard" accent. If the polish doesn't work out, painting the entire float will be a consideration. See separate comment to you elsewhere. Frank
Hi Rob! I used scotch bright on all surfaces where ZC would be applied. Then just before applying the ZC, I would wipe down the surfaces to be primed using laquer thinner to remove any residual oil. This seemed to work well. Frank
Welcome to the builder site. The CH701 is a better performing float plane than the CH750. Its a tougher build...but a lighter airframe.
Rob, I have access to rubber nose caps for those floats, the fiber ones are fairly delicate....Bob Jones 907 892-7369 I had a Company here mold some for my floats.
