Russians left over 30 bullets in my hangar, before they pulled the door with BTR. It looks like they tried to start the airplane with prop covers on. Luckily they left it alone with no damage. They took lots of tools, ATV, car, tv and pillows from our cottage. But they showed no interest in aviation souvenirs to bring back to Siberia. …

Welcome aboard, Sergii. You will have fun.

Sergii,
Glad to have another 701 builder that is early in the process. I placed my order on Oct 29th and had to wait until 19 Jan. to get it. In the interim I did a lot of research, built my 13' x 4' worktable and the slat jig. I also found another 701 builder about 40 miles away (the FAR west side of Dallas/Ft. Worth ... I'm on the far east side). He borrowed my slat jig and built his slats, so I know the jog works.
I'm just in from the workshop (nice weather here) finishing up the skinning of the horiz. stab. Tomorrow AM I will drill out the top side for A4 rivets then de-burr and rivet to complete the stab. I hope to start on the elevator in the afternoon.
I ordered a Viking engine (late August is the earliest delivery) and received my steel bungee yesterday/ My only other mods are the folding wing option and I completed the parts for the no-fuselage-slot flaps mod that's adapted from the 801.
Keep in touch with your progress ...
