Now I am looking for a flying "N" numbered 801 so I can put it on Amphibs!

Has anyone converted to an open cockpit on a 601XL?

My Zodiac 601 XL-B has moved past phase one flight testing and handles beautifully! The visibility and flight characteristics are better than I imagined and  I have just flown from the test area back to my own (rented) hangar in PGD! I expect to still have a few items that will need attention as I continue to do a pre-flight inspection like it is my first flight each time. Do not take anything for granted.  The last few months have been hectic and seemingly slow going. In reality the construction of my 601 has been steadily moving  forward.Working with Flight Crafters out of Zephyr Hills, Florida, has been educational and fun. The guys there are very knowledgeable and seem able to handle any situation. I am putting together a 601 XL-B and I am just about ready for test flight. I want an amphib. Does anyone on this site have a 601 on amphibs?( I would prefer a 750 but this should be unique). Dennis
