I finally ran out of things that needed done before first flight of my 601 XL B. The next thing to do was fly it.

Engine is a 2700 cc Aeromax Corvair

Engine installation is my own design except motor mount.

Rotec carb, homebrew intake and exhaust system.

Dual Ford EDIS-6 ignition using single Ford 6 cyl coil pack.

Warp drive 68" prop

Cowling is modified fiberglass Aeromax

No problems or difficulty on the first flight other than the often reported left wing heavy condition.

Hi Louis, I've been sent to pasture by both A z a l e a and the BIG W builder after buying an unused 3.1L S p y d e r engine (it was in parts) in Nevada that I had inspected by C l a p p in 2022, but he screwed me on my oil cooler, carb plus my intake exhaust so I will need to make my own intake and exhaust for my 601 HDS for my Rotec carb. I don't have a jig/fixture for TIG welding my own 304 pipes or having them custom welded. Any ideas or recommendations?

Congrats! I'm building out a 601 xlb as well; looks like I found yet another inspirational piece.
