Found a boat storage facility that will allow me to store/work on the 701 project  (folding-wing option).  Hangars & build-space non-existent in North Dallas area.  New generator arrives today; likely spend the next few days electrifying the shop.  Finished plumbing & wiring the Viking 110 yesterday, Hope to get the project moved soon.

I'm building in a two-car garage with much the same space limitations as you describe.  My plan was to build a storage shed in the back yard large enough to store the wings (in cradles) and the fuselage (on the gear).  I opted for the folding wing because of the lack of hangar space in the area (2-3 year waiting lists).  My wonderful homeowner's association would not allow me to build anything over 18' in length and 10' in width ... so no fuselage storage with the engine mounted.  With the boatyard space, I can empty the shed and possibly use it as a paint booth.

The boatyard space has the nice high ceiling & door even if only 12' wide.  The folding wing option is looking better and better.  No power, so I purchased a 7.5hp/4KW emergency generator and will use it to power lights and the necessary hand tools.

Built 701 airframe components in a space that is probably 21'X8' after allowing for kayaks on one side and toolbox, compressor, drill press and bandsaw on the other. Other than the final assembly of the whole airframe in one piece,  you need to have a safe place to store the components, not necessarily where you are building.

Hey!  That's great news Kurt!  A little more elbow room will come in handy as you near completion.  Is it waterfront?
