CH-750 POWER-OFF FULL-FLAP LANDING TECHNIQUE

I am not feeling comfortable doing power-off full-flap landings in the "Z" Bird. I look forward to hearing from those who have perfected the technique.  Approach speed? Over the numbers? Wind correction? Tips? Please, share your experience!

With the o-200 you are nose heavy to start, I was told to get very comfortable with the plane, Ie: at least 50 hrs before trying full flap landings...... I have 80 + hrs and find I don't need the flaps at all. To get the most out of the stol aspect of the 750 I feel you would be operating behind the power curve and landing with power. The few times I have tried full flaps I have had a handful. As conditions improve (weather) I am going to try and master the full flap landing with the o-200, Watch your sink rate in short final, with full flaps and power off it will just drive into the ground, a little power in the flare will help with the flare. The mains will take a lot of abuse and the nose gear will not! Fly safe, Jim
