On the night of August 11th at about 9:30 PM a strong storm hit the Chandler Airport.  30 planes were damaged or destroyed.  Aircraft parts were littering the ramp.  I saw radios, fiberglass wing tips, seat belts, nose gear with wheel, etc.  One of the flight schools lost all 6 planes that it had stationed at KCHD.  One was thrown about 50 yards and over a fence into the parking lot.

Several of the planes still had the tie down chains attached to their wings.  Either the chains broke were pulled from the ground.

I think the weather person term is "Micro Burst". I saw the aftermath of one at the Ottawa, Ontario airport and the results were the same. I takes a lot of energy to move a big low wing aircraft.. in a hangar I trust your CH601HDS was safe?
