Here's a link to a deadstick landing at the dry lakebed. Sorry for the poor video, learning how to do it. It's a little steeper approach, but not by much. Probably due to propeller being stopped.

Haven't tried a restart yet, but sounds like a good idea. Just have to dive a little I hope. When I put the slats back on I'll try this again and again and again until I can hit my spot.  When I'm at idle, which is 1800 rpm on the ground, the rpm's never go below about 2300 when at 62 mph glide, which just happens to be full nose up trim.  4 more hours to go until I can take passengers. Yahoo.

Interesting. Have you attempted to restart by windmilling the prop?

Cool!  Funny the prop doesn't windmill.  I've always heard that without the slats it was a normal approach.  Be interested to see the difference with the slats on!!! :D
