Today I uploaded some pictures of the drilling Jig that I have made. This tool should allow safe accurate removal of the AD5/6 solid rivets as required to incorporate the structural updates on the 601XL/650.

Very similar to a tool I made a few years back. Here's the link from my website.

An excellent idea! I'll add a variation that can be made from hardwood, like oak. 3/4" oak is readily available at lumber yards. You need at minimum a 1" piece, longer is better, drill a 1/8" hole on center through one end on a drill press. Enlarge one end to match the rivet head diameter. Won't be as durable as a metal version, but easy to make and disposable.

I haven't tried drilling out solid rivets. Unlikely they are as easy as pop rivets.
