Today closed up and riveted the top skin and horns. Rechecked the electric trim with a 9v battery, Not happy with the provided cotter pin attachment to the clevis rod as it appears to me to be hazard should it catch on something so I spent extra time laying it down. I notice a lot of openings in this design which is an invitation to insects, mud wasp and what have you. Anyone have ideas in how to fill those openings?

Hi Joe,
Great idea! One question/concern, doing this to the piano hinge means never removing the tab by removing the hinge pin.
Just to clarify, I was referring to the mini cotter pin at the clevis of the servo where it exits the bottom of the trim tab, not the piano hinge. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
Hi Bradford. Great job so far. As far as that safety wiring of the trim tab, EAA has a tip on their website and i used it on mine because my excess safety wire DID hang up during the testing. Pull out the hinge pin and shorten it a little on both sides. Then take a drift and a hammer and gently ping each side to slightly close the hole on both ends. Problem solved.
