Today was a culmination of 3 years work. I received the project partially built from a fellow in Canada. He had done about half the work and I did the rest. The inspectors from the FAA did a good thorough job. I have had medical problems the past several years that are not going away so flying is not possible now. My skills have eroded along with my health. I haven't decided how to approach the Phase I flights if at all. I know of a couple of pilots who are capable. I plan to ask one of them do at least fly it a few hours. I wish I could do it myself. In the end I will sell. I don't want a hangar queen. I have placed an ad on Barnstrormers.

Hope you had a good 3rd!

Cliff, congrats on getting through the inspection but it is really too bad you will not be able to enjoy the fruits of your hard work.
If you are going to get another pilot to fly your phase one time, make sure they have some time on type. The CH-701 is a great flying little plane and I love flying mine but they have absolutely no momentum due to their light weight. Low momentum coupled with the high drag airframe of the 701 means it stops flying as soon as you pull the power to idle on short final. If the pilot you choose to fly your baby is only experienced in heavier and cleaner aircraft, you may end up with bent landing gear as they chop the power at fifty feet and expect the plane to glide to the numbers. I've spent several hours trying to break my buddy's Cessna 172 bad habits so he can safely fly his new Zenith STOL plane.
Hope you get the health issues under control and are once again able to return to the skies.

Sorry to hear of your health issues. Glad and proud to hear of your bird getting inspected and certified. That alone must feel pretty good. I expect it will be sweet and bittersweet at the same time to see it fly, but on balance I expect you will enjoy it. Good luck with getting some hours on it and good luck with the sale.
Thank you, Cliff. Will do.
Go on Barnstormers and search for Zenith 701. My ad is about the 3rd or 4th and mentions "Price Reduced Againz' with a price listed at $22,950. I don't have any pictures in the ad but if you want some and a spec sheet respond to the ad and I will send them to you. Cliff
Cliff, congratulations on the certificate and best wishes for good health. Could not find your listing on barnstormers. Can you provide a link? Thank you.
