October 4, 2012 - They say that every journey begins with a single step, and for EAA's employee CH 750 building project that step took place on Saturday, September 29, with a launch party and builders session at EAA's Weeks Hangar.

Zenith's Sebastien Heintz and Roger Dubbert arrived on Friday evening from company headquarters in Mexico, Missouri, with a crated Zenith CH 750 E-LSA kit. After it was unpacked Saturday morning, more than a dozen EAA employees got right to work.

"We had 15 staffers throughout the first day," said Chad Jensen, EAA special interest community manager, noting that 36 employees are signed up to participate in the project. "Sebastien and Roger were absolutely thrilled with the progress we made on Saturday. We had three teams working on three rudder projects, and all three teams succeeded with a finished rudder!"

The goal is to have a finished airplane by Memorial Day 2013. Progress will be reported through the EAA website, Facebook page, and other communication channels, and Jensen invites members to follow along.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for EAA to show our love and appreciation for homebuilt airplanes," Jensen added.

Added Heintz, "Support of the experimental amateur-built community is something I am committed to doing, and seeing an opportunity like this to work with EAA on project that will not only provide an education to their employees, but to also see a group project come together and end up in the EAA Employee Flying Club, is something I am very proud to be a part of."

[We'll report back on the progress of the EAA staffers as the continue work on the STOL CH 750 kit project.  They plan to continue with the horizontal tail kit this weekend.]
