Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
My Aircraft will be slightly slower due to the drag of my STOL type aircraft. So, maybe 75-85 will be
realistic as an expectation. About to finish my fuel tanks this spring and a goal for me is that the wings MUST be on this summer. It was a pleasure to read about this Corvair powered 601. I believe that the Corvair is a real performer, and I believe that it is very useable and safe powerplant in the Zenith kits.
Thanks to William Wynn and the people in Florida in keeping this powerplant an excellent choice to the kit
builders in the USA and abroad. Been at it for quite a long time now and the key words are, "keep building
and keep weight in mind". So, nuff of me, and more stories of the success and failures of my brothers and sisters who are building these marvelous aircraft. It's been a real "hoot". Thanks to Tom Jackson, a real friend and big help to my and my project. And a sad note, another real help in building my aircraft is Dr. Ed Olds, of Illinois, who passed recently, was a real gentleman and always inviting to me. Doc, rest in Peace
