Hi All,

I have just completed a 701 and have 5hours air time everything is awesome with the exception that the plane wants to roll to the left.  What is the recommended roll trim fix?

It is a lot easier to add a trim tab to the aileron of a 701 because you can just drill out (7) soft rivets from the trailing end and attach a trim tab with small bolts  I "straddled" a rib and made the trim tab about 60 mm wide (cord?)  by 260 mm (span) Attach on the right aileron and bend it down a bit. Test fly and bend down more if left wing still heavy. If you have to bend over 30 degrees you should probably make the tab bigger (in span)

Congratulations! Great joy I remember from the first flights in my CH701.

My vintage plane had this spring and cable to keep the left wing up and level for years. It worked very well. Adjust the tension was by moving the top cable loop up and down the spring coil.During this big rebuild, I have isolated the pitch control from roll as shown below, and unhooked the spring. (I don't know why. May be the Summer heat boiled my brain!)

Joseph F. Truncale put sleeves on the torque tube for the same purpose. Very neat.

some builders bend the trailing edge of a flapperon using a 2x4  with a long straight saw cut in the middle. I did add a trimtab to one flapperon instead.(easier to adjust) good luck and congrats !
