Bigger and Better Zenith STOL:
We've made the popular Zenith STOL CH 750 light sport utility kit aircraft even bigger and better!
The STOL CH 750 cabin, which by all measures is already very roomy for a light aircraft, has been increased in size by raising the cabin height by nearly three inches (or 70 mm.)
The top front of the cabin (the ceiling) has been raised and is now part of the lifting surface of the aircraft (further adding to the STOL capability of the aircraft):
Here's a side view approximation depicting the curved top "sky light" window
The cabin frame's top diagonal cross member has been replaced by two beefy smaller diagonal "hand-holds" by the front of the cabin, and the formed plexiglass top window adds to the lifting surfaces of the aircraft, to provide better STOL performance and capability.
Here's a walk-around video clip of the new bigger STOL CH 750 cabin:
The larger cabin is the latest development in the Chris Heintz STOL design program which has a long history of innovation in the development of a light sport utility aircraft (or "sky jeep" as they are often called by their owners). With the taller cabin with airfoil top, the STOL CH 750 design continues to offer an "above-cab" wing design to maximize visibility:

So has any one heard yet about new prices, upgrades, who is eligible etc ? I'll be ordering my fuse kit sometime in the summer, I'm hoping I can get this new version with my existing Edition 2 pieces.
Are those the seats you get now when you order the interior of the plane? Look pretty comfy!
This CH 750 looks very nice.
Can CH 701 have some improvements like this? Many pilots I know of just want more cockpit space to accommodate their growth. ;^))
If the geometry and tube sizing is the same, then a little welding of the frame by an aviation welder and a few new parts may be all that is needed.
I think the front tube is the same size....I REALLY like the hand tubes though, and the lack of the cross piece makes for a much cleaner look. Maybe I should have waited a few months before ordering my v2 kit! :)
Is the front spar carry through tube even larger on the new cabin than it was for version 2 ? Looks big in the pictures and video.
Is it just me, or are the thick doubler straps on top of the fuselage at the splice point new? They look like they tie into the upper longerons and also have a row or two of fasteners that pick up the skin. I wonder if there is an internal skin doubler as well. This part of the fuselage needs some stiffening to eliminate the oil canning in the skin that is the roof of the baggage area. You can see the staps really well in the new flight video.
A fellow builder who is at Sun n Fun says he asked Zenith and they said you can mod the existing kit to get the extra headroom. No more details than that....
Robert still has the diagonal cross member. Two of them in fact. I like this new design better, with the two "hand-holds", much better.
