Thinking of extending nose strut by about 2 inches for clearance in case of off road bungee failure. I've got large mains and standard nose wheel. Anyone else? Input appreciated. Cheers,,, Lynn

Went ahead and extended the fork for a larger tire, and increased tire clearance. Put's the nose a bit higher, for sure. Went with 22" mains (8.50-6 buffed smooth), and a 21" front. Much more clearance. Lower pressure, soft landings on my bumpy field. Hoping to take it more off airport eventually. Need some more education on it first. Take it slow.
Increased mine by an inch, Helped lower the tail for clearance into the hanger. Has caused me no problems with landings and does provide more prop clearance.
BTW, I have 603 hrs on my plane, same bungee.
don't. If bungee fails, its failed because you hit on nose first, mains last. practice mains first, stall the nose. You will be happy and the bungee will last longer than your house.
