Can anyone tell me the part number for the shock cord for the nose gear on a CH600 Zodiac?? Any tips on how to change the shock cord? Do I need to remove the nose gear leg to accomplish this? Any help would be appreciated!! Please email me at bdavis1@shaw.ca. Thanks!

I tied down my at the tie down hook and removed my nose wheel in its entirety.  Just go into it knowing it is a total PITA job.  I expected the worst, and it took me about 2 hrs.  Not too shabby, but definitely not "FUN".  Bungee BTW I took off the top plate, the lower nose gear guide made out of .125 and disconnected my stearing linkages.  I thought that was easier than trying to feed the bungee through and used a special tool to stretch it.  Just my 2 cents.  It's how I got it on in the first place, so why change it.

Barry,

Not 100% sure about the 600 but for the 601's the part number for the nose gear shock cord is 1080HD.  Also assuming the gear leg is similar to the 601's and 701's you have to take the gear leg off to get the bungee on.  I've changed my twice and it takes about 2 hours to do.

A note about blog posts:  Blogs are best used as a "journal" especially when photos are included as part of the blog post.

If what you want to do is ask a question (and solicit responses) or engage in a discussion, please use the Discussion Forums for this instead of blog posts.
For technical model-specific questions (discussions), we recommend that you start a new discussion under the model group, such as Zodiac or STOL... This will keep discussions (questions and answers) relevant to all members, and will make it easier to archive and access (search) the post in the future.
